what do I need to do after waxing?
top tips for first-time waxers
- It is advisable to avoid drinking caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment. Caffeine, being a stimulant, makes you more aware of the smallest amount of pain.
- Wear loose, clean clothing – it helps the area to breathe and heal better, both before and after your treatment.
- Included in every treatment is the 'WAX Co Soother'. This helps to close the pores and calm the skin, and reduces the possibility of infections. It also makes it a more comfortable experience.
- If you have been shaving, allow 2 to 3 weeks’ hair growth before your first wax. Some people suffer with ingrowing hairs; if this is you, we have a great scrub treatment! 'Ruff Stuff', created by a professional waxologist, is specially formulated to keep ingrowing hairs to a minimum.
- It is also advisable to exfoliate in between your treatments, starting from 24 to 48 hours after waxing. For the most effective results, it is best to continue exfoliating every day. This can also help to improve any skin problems you may be experiencing.
- Do not shave in between appointments as shaving increases the strength of the hair, whereas waxing weakens and diminishes hair growth.
